Why we're building Specific

Specific was founded by Fabian and Iman. We've spent our careers as engineers building and maintaining complex systems, and learning firsthand what it takes to make them reliable, secure, and scalable.

  Fabian spent three years at Stripe, where he was tech lead for systems that processed tens of billions of dollars each year.

  Iman spent four years at startups like Fever and Braive, building software that balanced national energy grids and managed sensitive healthcare data under strict regulatory requirements.

Together, we realized we kept solving the same infrastructure problems over and over. And with AI coding agents rapidly improving and becoming the default way software gets built, we still see a massive gap: agents struggle to run, deploy and maintain the software it builds. They're stuck with fragmented infrastructure tooling originally designed for humans. We're building Specific because we want to bridge that gap so humans can focus on what to build.
